The 2023 Green Oak Charter Township Master Plan explores many aspects including community identity, conservation of natural resources, growth, community infrastructure, and rural character. The Plan has been updated to be more concise and provide the community’s goals and policy in a more explicit way.

The community was able to share their thoughts on how the Township should accommodate growth, including preferred housing types, during an open house and a survey.

A Future Land Use Plan presents an idealized view of future growth patterns providing practical guidance to local decision-makers regarding current issues. The Plan includes 5 ways to provide and accomplish growth while maintaining the community’s visions for the future.

Special Study Areas have been identified throughout the Township to receive additional planning attention to supplement the guidance set forth in the Master Plan.

These areas include Environmental Conservation & Preservation, Village Place, the Legacy Center, and Complete Streets. These initiatives and projects allow for growth and align with the goals, objectives, and strategies for the future.
