Make your community age-friendly with this AARP program
Over the past several years we at Carlisle/Wortman Associates have advocated vigorously for plans and programs that accommodate people as they age, responding to the fact that, by 2040, 24% of the people in southeast Michigan will be age 65 or older. That number is even higher in some northern Michigan counties.If you’re looking for a structured program to help you evaluate and improve your services to seniors (and, really, to everyone in your community), AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly Communities might be just the ticket.In Michigan, Auburn Hills, East Lansing, Highland Park, Lansing and Southfield have joined.You don’t have to join the program to use their tools.
