Ben Carlisle and Sally Elmiger promoted
We’ve promoted two associate planners to senior associates and hired our summer interns as full time staffers.New Senior Associate Sally Elmiger, AICP, joined Carlisle/Wortman in 1999. She currently serves as the planner for Ann Arbor and Marion townships, assists with the cities of Plymouth and Northville and administers the zoning board and historic district commission in Northville. Elmiger received her master’s degree in landscape architecture from the school of natural resources and environment at the University of Michigan, specializing in environmental design and land conservation. She is a member of the American Planning Association and is a LEED accredited professional. Elmiger is the firm’s resident authority on oil and gas regulation in Michigan, as seen in this article. She lives in Plymouth.Senior Associate Ben Carlisle, AICP, joined the firm in 2011 as a community planner. He serves numerous Washtenaw and Oakland County clients including the City of Troy, for which he led the five-year update of the master plan. Carlisle joined the firm in 2011 after five years with Evanston, Illinois-based Teska Associates. He was previously a planner with the City of Highland Park, Ill. and an economic development consultant for the City of Chicago. He received a bachelor’s degree in urban planning at Miami University and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from University of Illinois-Chicago. As a speaker and educator, Carlisle covers new economic development techniques, as seen in this summary of a 2013 presentation to the Michigan Association of Planning.
