The Land Use Plan for Shiawassee County will be used by the County Planning Commission and the Board of Commissioners as the guide for future land use and infrastructure investment decisions.

The Plan establishes the County’s commitment to the environment through natural resource preservation and to agriculture through agricultural preservation. It strikes a balance by offering land for expansion of the commercial and industrial base. It also preserves the environment, farmland, and sustains the County’s rural and agricultural heritage as well as its economy.
