Gingellville Village Plan + Guidelines
Charter Township of Orion, MI

As part of the Township Master Plan update in 2003, a Village Center land use classification was designated for the area including the unincorporated Village of Gingellville. Local residents and Township officials recognized the importance of the area and expressed a desire to recreate the sense of community and charm that once existed. Development proposals at the intersection of Baldwin and Maybe roads provided additional impetus for further planning effforts.

The overall goal of the Plan and Guidelines was to create a village which consits of a compact mix of residential densitites with supporting commercial and public uses lying within its center that emphasizes human scale and pedestrian activity. The intent of the guidelines is to encourage change sensitive to the existing buildings, to preserve and enhance this character as it responds to new develoment, and to guide future development.
